School Leave Letter

A School Leave letter is written by the parent on behalf of his child or ward who needs to take a leave of absence from school. When a parent writes a school leave letter, it is an acknowledgment of parental consent on the school leave requested in the letter. Reason(s) for requesting the leave of absence from school should be given.

RE: School Leave

I, Emily Gulley, parent of Wilma Gulley, a grade 3 student at Holden High School, wish to inform you that my daughter will be absent from school from January 15-20, 2011.

The whole family will be away that week for an overseas trip. It is a last minute trip that has to be made due to some unforeseen circumstances beyond our control. As such, I apologize that my daughter, Wilma Gulley, will not be present in school for those days.

I would appreciate it if you could inform Wilma’s teachers of her absence and to assist her in the necessary school work before she goes off. She will work on her assignments and projects where possible if necessary.
Thank you for your kind understanding and assistance.

Respectfully yours,
Emily Gulley
